PROGRAMME FOR 2009
PLUS NEWS for early 2009
All meets start from the club hut at 08.30 am don’t be late be early, stay
the night ?
Meet dates in 2009
to be confirmed but unlikely to change. Meets will over the whole weekend as
members will usually be staying at the hut. Local members who don't wish
or need to use the hut can turnout either day but generally it has been
suggested they prefer Sunday meetings for single day meets.
Meets to be from the
hut 0830hrs start . Basically we will have them as weekend meets with the
incentive to stay at hut and get "clubby" . If you just want to
turnout for a day either contact me via this medium ( or any other committee
member ) to check if the hut is likely to be visited or turn up on the Sunday.
Dec
2008 meet this coming weekend 13/14th.
Feb
meet 21/22nd from the hut.
March meet to be over 21/22nd of MARCH this will
be a meet on the Saturday and the club AGM at Plas Y Brenin on
Saturday night. This date is now confirmed with PYB in the
library the PYB bar is available before and after the event.
April
meet 18/19 from the hut.
May
meet 16/17 from the hut.
June
meet 20/21 from the hut.
i.e. generally third full weekend of the month except AGM from the hut.
Alps / Chamonix meet to be arranged over July / August. Trevor Smith will act as coordinator , he suggests a driving camping type trip but this is fully flexible depending on what you want and time you can get away for . Contact Trevor on trevor@mcnw.co.uk .
July August meets to remain on the third full weekends somewhere the UK. Venues to be set early 2009. Basically make a suggestion as where and what!! Contact me.
Meets later in the year---- to be set but we plan to have a camping meet based at the DAN Y OGOF showcave site in the Western Brecon Beacons in July Aug September. There is good walking and plenty of other good things to do. We have had a good turnout there before so drop me a line if you are interested.
The South Devon MC / MCNW members have suggested a Dartmoor meet in 2009 perhaps camping on a site. Could any member down there suggest a date and act as linkperson?? I for one will turn out and others from Glos say the same plus its only as far as the Brecons from here.
Away
meets will be added ie a meet in Rhinogs or Lakes or Scotland if members
request them please contact me via the website email if you wish as a member to
organise a meet or can suggest a location other than the hut as a meeting
location. Its all down to the membership to tell the committee where they are
willing to meet. Members meets at the hut need not be on the above dates and
prospective members can use these
occasions to join the MCNW.

Members can wait for latecomers if contact details are sorted out beforehand.
Members trips will be
added as they are reported please let me or another committee member know if
you are organising a trip and would like to open it to club members you can of
course “vet “ any members again these are chanced to bring along your
interested friends with a view to join them up. They will need to attend the
hut as well to ensure they can safely use it ( water and power).

Club members wishing to bring along more than two guests can book this via Pete as above but if the group is large ( more than say 6 or 8 ) we must give members a little warning to avoid double booking. So contact Pete as above or me via the website email address. Chris.
